Return & Warranty Policy

SCR Forklift
Last Updated: March 2026

We stand behind the parts we sell. This document covers our return process, warranty coverage, and core return requirements. If you have questions about any of this, call us. We would rather help you get it right than deal with paperwork.

Part 1: Returns

Return Window

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return a part. The part must be unused, in its original packaging, and in resalable condition.

How to Start a Return

All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Do not ship anything back without one.

  1. Contact us by phone or email to request an RMA. Have your order number and the part number(s) you want to return ready.
  2. We will issue an RMA number and provide return shipping instructions within 1 business day.
  3. Ship the part back within 7 days of receiving your RMA number. Write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the box. Do not write on the part packaging itself.

Returns received without an RMA number or received more than 7 days after RMA issuance may be refused.

Restocking Fee

A 25% restocking fee applies to all standard returns. This fee covers inspection, repackaging, and restocking costs.

The restocking fee is waived if:

  • We shipped you the wrong part
  • The part arrived defective or damaged
  • The part does not match its catalog listing or description

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned once delivered:

  • Electrical components (solenoids, controllers, sensors, switches) that have been installed or connected
  • Opened gasket sets and seal kits
  • Special-order or custom-ordered parts
  • Cut hoses, cables, or chains
  • Hazardous materials (batteries, fluids)
  • Parts that have been modified, installed, or show signs of use

Refund Details

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5-7 business days after we receive and inspect the returned part.
  • Original shipping charges are not refunded unless the return is due to our error (wrong part shipped, defective item, etc.).
  • Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the return is due to our error.

Part 2: Warranty

We offer tiered warranty coverage based on part type. All warranties begin on the date of delivery.

Warranty Coverage by Part Type

Part TypeWarranty Period
Remanufactured engines18 months, unlimited hours
Remanufactured transmissions18 months, unlimited hours
Remanufactured drivetrain components12 months
New aftermarket parts6 months
Used / surplus parts90 days
Electrical components6 months
Gaskets, seals, filters, and wear items90 days

What the Warranty Covers

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions. If a part fails due to a manufacturing defect or faulty remanufacturing during the warranty period, we will replace or refund the part at our discretion.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not apply to failures caused by:

  • Improper installation or application
  • Misuse, neglect, or abuse
  • Operation outside the manufacturer's specifications
  • Lack of required maintenance (oil changes, filter changes, fluid levels)
  • Use of incorrect fluids, fuels, or lubricants
  • Accident, fire, flood, or other external damage
  • Modifications or alterations not approved by SCR Forklift
  • Normal wear and tear

Labor Reimbursement

  • Remanufactured engines and transmissions: Labor reimbursement is available up to a maximum of $500 per warranty claim. Labor claims must include documentation of work performed (technician hours, shop rate, description of work). Labor claims must be submitted within 30 days of the warranty repair.
  • All other parts: Warranty coverage is limited to the part itself. We do not reimburse labor costs for standard aftermarket parts, electrical components, or wear items.

Oil Leak Warranty (Remanufactured Engines)

Oil leaks on remanufactured engines are covered for 90 days from delivery. After 90 days, oil leaks are considered a maintenance item and are not covered under warranty.

Liability Cap

Our total liability on any warranty claim is limited to the original purchase price of the part, plus original shipping charges, plus any approved labor reimbursement. We are not liable for downtime, lost revenue, rental equipment, towing, or any other consequential or incidental damages.

How to File a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact us with your order number, part number, date of installation, and a description of the issue. Photos or video of the failure are extremely helpful.
  2. We will evaluate your claim and determine if the part needs to be returned for inspection.
  3. If return is required, we will issue an RMA and provide a prepaid shipping label.
  4. Once approved, we will ship a replacement part or issue a refund. Replacement parts carry a new warranty for the remainder of the original warranty period or 90 days, whichever is longer.

Part 3: Core Returns

Many remanufactured parts (engines, transmissions, starters, alternators, hydraulic pumps, etc.) are sold on a core exchange basis. Your old unit is the “core,” and we need it back to remanufacture the next one.

Core Deposit

  • Remanufactured engines and transmissions: No upfront core deposit is required. However, if you do not return your core within the timeframe below, the full core charge listed on your invoice will be billed.
  • Other remanufactured components (starters, alternators, pumps, etc.): A core deposit varies by part and is charged at the time of purchase, then refunded when the acceptable core is returned.

Core Return Timeframe

You have 45 days from the date you receive your remanufactured part to return the old core. After 45 days, the core charge becomes non-refundable.

If you need more time, contact us before the 45-day deadline. We can often extend the window if you communicate with us.

Core Return Shipping

  • Engines and transmissions: We will arrange and pay for freight pickup of your core within the Continental US.
  • Smaller core items: We will provide a prepaid shipping label.

Core Condition Requirements

To receive full core credit, your returned core must meet the following conditions:

  • Complete and intact. No missing major components (cylinder heads, oil pans, valve covers, etc. must be present on engines).
  • Not seized. The crankshaft must rotate 360 degrees freely.
  • Rebuildable. The core must not be cracked, broken, burnt, or otherwise damaged beyond remanufacturability.
  • Drained of fluids. Drain all oil, coolant, and hydraulic fluid before shipping.

Cores that do not meet these requirements may receive partial credit or no credit, at our discretion.
